Since opening in 2005, art.les.nyc studios has been a progressive artistic force on the Lower East Side underground scene. From contemporary art installations to after-school student projects, promoting events combining performance art, fashion, and design, art.les.nyc has striven to be a shining beacon representing the eternal independent artistic spirit of this neighborhood.
Now, after a five-year span featuring over incredible 30 shows, we are bidding farewell to our homestead at 202 Rivington Street with a climactic final event inspired by this space in which we dreamed, worked and created. For our final project here, 202, we welcome artists to a live Paint-Out, inviting them to portray the inextinguishable artistic soul of our beloved city of New York, and pay tribute to this incredible urban space that nurtured Lower East side Art to its fullest contemporary expression, on Saturday August 14th, 2010, from 3 p.m. till 10 p.m. If you are an artist interested in joining us in painting for this event, please email us at: artlesnyc@gmail.com with your information.
